Kaden
Kaden’s professional trophy case includes 12 professional titles and 9 finals on both the ATP and ITF tour. He competed in both singles and doubles at the Brisbane International and Australian Open and had wins over many current and former top 100 players such as John Isner, Milos Raonic, Vasek Pospisil, Pablo Cuevas, Rajeev Ram, Paolo Lorenzi, Matthew Ebden, Jordan Thompson, Sam Groth, Marinko Matosevic, John Peers, Austin Krajicek and Dustin Brown.
Conor
Hailing from Goondiwindi, Conor grew up playing Junior Masters tournaments throughout Queensland from the age of nine, before heading to Brisbane Boys College, where he continued his tennis with GPS. He then travelled to Belgium for a year with the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. After returning home, Conor completed his Development and Advanced coaching courses with Tennis Coaches Australia, earning an award for high distinction. He has been coaching ever since, also becoming a provider of the Hot Shots Program, travelling to rural areas, and promoting the sport of tennis. Now with over fifteen years of experience coaching players of all ages and levels, Conor has an abundance of knowledge, specialising in developing young players. His communication skills and patience help to instil a love of the sport, while building an excellent foundation of technique and tactics to prepare for competitive play.
Michael
Growing up in Hong Kong, Michael first showed promise as a junior table tennis player, coming runner-up at the Hong Kong Inter-school Championships and gaining a sponsorship with table tennis brand Butterfly. As he grew up, Michael transitioned from table tennis to tennis, where he also achieved outstanding results, culminating in a runner-up finish at the Hong Kong Inter-school Tennis Championships. After graduating from high school in Hong Kong, Michael decided to study on the Gold Coast, gaining a Bachelor of Sport Development. In 2019, Michael represented Griffith University as the #1 player at the Australian University National Games, carrying the team to 5th place. He also doubled up and represented Griffith University in table-tennis at the same tournament, making it to the round of 16. During his time at university, Michael was involved with the Gold Coast University Social Tennis Club and became the head coach at Griffith University, conducting both group and private lessons. Michael also obtained his Tennis Australia Community Coaching certificate during this time and is aspiring towards achieving the Master Club Professional coaching status with Tennis Australia. Michael has an unwavering passion for tennis and is excited to be able to pass on his knowledge and skills to the boys at The Southport School.
Jeremy
Having captained the TSS First IV Open Tennis team during his years at the school, Jeremy brings another dimension of experience to the Handeye Sports team. Once a highly ranked junior, a pupil of world-renowned coach Gavin Hopper and having trained at the IMG tennis academy in Florida, he knows what it takes to reach an advanced level. Gaining experience as a trainer and mentor for developing players in the years after graduation, Jeremy’s passion for teaching enabled him to acquire his accredited tennis coaching credentials and he is now highly motivated to inspire the next generation of intermediate players looking to reach the next level at The Southport School.
Ben
As a former TSS First IV player and Queensland state representative, Ben competed and coached across Australia and the United States. Ben played four years of college tennis at the College of Coastal Georgia where he completed a Bachelor of Psychology, and finished with a program-record 99 career wins. Post-college Ben has continued his studies by completing his Honours in Psychology at Southern Cross University, with the intention of completing a Masters in Sport Psychology in the over the next few years. He has also continued competing in tournaments and working as a hitting partner for ATP and WTA professionals. Ben’s coaching experience includes two seasons at Sakonnet Country Club (USA), followed by roles as Senior Coach at the Queensland Tennis Centre and the Kelvin Grove State College Tennis Excellence Program. During this time Ben coached juniors through all stages of development, including multiple regional and state representatives. Ben brings high-performance playing experience, technical and tactical detail, and an individualised coaching style to every session to help athletes compete with confidence and genuinely love the game.
